 Terms and Conditions

The following terms and conditions apply to the purchase of tickets for performances and events at Bread & Circus – World Buskers Festival [“Bread & Circus”] venues on behalf of the organisations or artists responsible for providing the event, excluding the Isaac Theatre Royal.  Please see relevant section below regarding these events.

By making a purchase for Bread & Circus, you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions as they stand at the time of your purchase.

These Conditions of Purchase are governed by the laws of New Zealand.

Payment Processing Fee

A 1.5% payment processing fee applies to all purchases made by credit or debit card and is not included in the advertised price. A payment processing fee does not apply for purchases made through outlets when using cash.  


All ticket/item prices include GST, if applicable, and are quoted in NZ$.

Exchanges and refunds

The ticket cannot be returned or refunded after purchase

No refunds are available unless a performance is cancelled, re-scheduled or significantly re-located (and you cannot or do not wish to attend the re-scheduled or re-located event), and a refund is requested, except as required by law.

Refunds for tickets purchased by credit card will be refunded to that credit card. Tickets purchased by cash, cheque or EFTPOS will be refunded by direct EFT deposit.

Exchanges on tickets are offered if all of the following conditions are met:

  • The request for an exchange is submitted in writing by emailing boxoffice@breadandcircus.co.nz
  • The request for an exchange is made at a minimum of 48 hours prior to the original performance start time
  • The original performance is not sold out
  • The request for exchange is for the same event
  • The customer has provided proof of the destruction of the original tickets, should hardcopy tickets have been issued
  • The request is approved by the artist or relevant co-producer.

A $5.00 exchange fee is payable by the customer at the time of exchange, if the exchange is approved.     

If exchanging into a cheaper performance, customers will not be reimbursed the difference in ticket price.


Holders of valid concession cards are eligible for concession price tickets: Student card (full-time), Community Services Card and all government-issued Seniors Cards. You may be asked to show your valid concession card when purchasing or collecting your tickets or on entering the venue. Concession prices are not applicable on all events or performances.


Unless otherwise specified, children 18 months and under can sit on the lap of a carer free of charge.  Any child over this age must have a valid ticket.  No children, including babes in arms are permitted to Restricted 18+ performances.


Any advertised discounts apply to full price tickets only and cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other promotion.

Conditions of Entry

Upon entry to the venue ticket-holders agree to be photographed for promotional use of Bread & Circus. It is also a condition of entry to a performance that no recording or photographic devices are used. Including mobile phones, which must be switched off prior to the beginning of the performance.  It may be a condition of entry to individual events that a search of person and/or their possessions will be required at the time of the entry to the venue. If other conditions apply, they are displayed either in the box office or near the entrance to the venue.

Delivery Method

Tickets purchased online will be issued as eTickets. This requires customers to have a valid email address. Please ensure you have checked your spam folder if you have not received the tickets to your inbox. If tickets are purchased during the festival at a Bread & Circus box office then a standard ticket will be issued.


eTickets can be printed or presented at the venue on a smart phone or tablet. Some venues may require tickets to be printed and in this case, please ensure that the QR code is clear and able to be scanned.

Latecomer Policy

The performance will begin at the advertised time. Venues and Front of House staff reserve the right to admit latecomers only if there is a suitable moment in the performance. Management reserves the right to refuse admission; this policy is to prevent disruption to other patrons and the performance.

Lost Tickets

Bread & Circus reserves the right not to process exchanges or refunds or to provide or reprints for lost tickets.

If you are unsure if a payment has gone through, please email boxoffice@breadandcircus.co.nz. Bread & Circus reserves the right to not provide refunds if payment has been successful.

Bread & Circus accepts ONLY Visa and Mastercard for online and phone sales.

Bread & Circus Box Offices accept Eftpos, Visa and Mastercard, and cash. These Box Offices are located at our Festival Hub, 78 Worcester Boulevard, Christchurch 8011 and The Arts Centre, 2 Worcester Boulevard, Christchurch 8013.

Ticket Resale

Tickets may not, without prior written consent from Bread & Circus, be resold at a premium, offered as a prize or used for advertising or other promotional use.  Entry may be refused if tickets are damaged or defaced in any way or are not purchased from Bread & Circus or other authorised points of sale.

Unless a performance is categorised as a children or family show content may not be suitable for all ages. For more information on show content please visit the specific performance’s page on our website.

Under Age policy

Unless a specific event is listed as 18+, all venues and events are all ages. 

Tickets purchased for performances at Isaac Theatre Royal venue

All tickets to events at the Isaac Theatre Royal are sold through Ticketek. By proceeding with the purchase of ticket for a performance at the Isaac Theatre Royal you agree to be bound by Ticketek’s Terms and Conditions of Purchase (including the Venue Conditions of Entry for the applicable Venue) available at https://premier.ticketek.co.nz/Content/buyers/termsofsale.aspx.


By purchasing a ticket, attending an event or otherwise dealing with Bread & Circus, you agree to be bound by the Bread & Circus privacy policy, available here.

Program details and prices

Every effort has been made to ensure program details are correct, however details and prices are subject to change where necessary and without notice. The right is reserved to add, withdraw or substitute artists, performers or events, vary ticket prices, and/or vary advertised programmes, seating arrangements and audience capacity.



  1. Winners will be randomly drawn on the date specified on Facebook, Instagram, the Bread & Circus website or the Bread & Circus email newsletter.
  2. Prizes are non-transferable or exchangeable for cash.
  3. Entrants must be aged 18 or over.
  4. Winners will be notified by email.
  5. Only one entry per person, per competition is permitted.
  6. Competitions are not open to Strut & Fret or Bread & Circus employees and their immediate family.
  7. Bread & Circus competitions are in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook.
  8. Information disclosed is for use by Strut & Fret NZ only.
  9. We reserve the rights to publicise the name of the winner through our social media networks.
